Clean Air Zones have been part of life since 2019 for anyone entering the larger cities in the UK. This legislation is changing continually and keeping up with these changes is not always easy. The ULEZ (Ultra Low Emission Zone) is set to come into law in August 2023 – moving the very strict air quality criteria out from central London to all of the Greater London area.
Fines are not standard across the country, or indeed even in place in some cities, and the class of CAZ/ULEZ are different across local authorities.
