“FVTH had a fantastic day at The Grosvenor Hotel Park Lane listening to Michael Owen and Paul Merson, both ex England Players sharing their life experiences around their first careers in Football and now their media careers.
“The dedication that these guys show in all their chosen professions just shows what it takes to be a true professional. A very insightful, funny, and social afternoon enjoying some down time with our valued customers and suppliers. Special thanks go to Andrew Morris, Jim McMeckan, Phil Nimo, Danny Coote, Jarreth Cush, and Colin Moore Greenhous DAF.
“One of the best comments of the day from Paul Merson was about when Harry Redknapp approached him to sign for Portsmouth FC , Harry “if you sign”- “ you don’t have to work Mondays, Wednesdays or Thursdays, just make sure you XXXXXX turn up on a Saturday” to which Paul Merson replied, “I’ll be down in the morning Harry”.
“I had the pleasure of watching Paul that season and I haven’t seen a better footballer at Fratton Park, he was true class and still is. No one will ever forget the goal Michael Owen scored against Argentina and listening to him describe it from his perspective was totally mesmerising. Now Michael is a very successful racehorse owner and I have had the pleasure of meeting him at Chester Races, a true gent and driven professional and has some pretty good horses as well!
