On Sunday 28th April 2024, Mike Dally who normally travels in multi-axle HGVs for FVTH, moved to his two feet  and joined other runners tackling the 26.2 miles of the London Marathon.  Just a sneak view behind the scenes of the FVTH team, and just another weekend for Mike!

Mike drives for FVTH and can usually cover 1,000 miles a week, delivering and collecting vehicles, as well as taking time to prepare vehicles for rent.  He moved from sitting in the driving seat to having to provide the propulsion!

Ever thoughtful of customer’s requirements,  he ticked off the Marathon on Sunday, and was back in work on Monday.  Tim Brown, MD at QDL Services commented on Tim Houghton’s LinkedIn post on the Monday – “Fantastic achievement and a great cause. Didn’t know you ran the Marathon ‘just yesterday’ when I saw you today, you couldn’t tell…”!

Raising money for Breast Cancer – Mike loved the whole experience, and this will certainly not be his last marathon.  We will keep you informed!

Mike started running seriously in 2002, and has four marathons under his belt, travelling as far as Berlin for one of them.  Joining Hedge End Running Club in 2013, he takes his running seriously and achieved a very respectable time of 4 hours 16 minutes.

It was an experience that will stay with Mike forever, the crowd was amazing all the way round, and he even managed to run with Chris Evans for over a mile during the race.

However, his takeaway iconic moment was running over Tower Bridge.
